Supporters:
Name, email address, and phone number (collected via the Internet Payment Gateway checkout interface).
Creators:
Legal name, National Identity Card (NIC) details (for KYC), bank account details, and social media links.
2.2 Payment Security & Data Privacy
Card Data:
CheerMe does not store credit card or debit card numbers on our servers. All sensitive payment data is handled by Internet Payment Gateway, a PCI-DSS compliant gateway.
Encryption:
All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using Industry Standard SSL/TLS encryption.
Anonymous Cheers:
If a Supporter selects "Anonymous," their personal details are masked from the Creator's public and private dashboards. However, this data is retained in our backend for 7 years to comply with Sri Lankan anti-money laundering (AML) regulations.
2.3 Data Usage
Your data is used strictly for:
- Processing transactions and sending digital receipts.
- Notifying Creators of new "Cheers."
- Preventing fraudulent transactions and ensuring Platform security.
Data Retention
We retain transaction data for 7 years to comply with Sri Lankan financial regulations and anti-money laundering requirements. User account data is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter for legal and operational purposes.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Object to processing of your data
